"Reaching people for Christ: helping people out of poverty into a sustainable future."

Stickmen For Stats UkraineHistory

MWB has worked in Ukraine since 1960, at the height of the Cold War. In 1986 the Chernobyl disaster resulted in:

  • the displacement of thousands of people and the demise of local industry
  • damage to the economy
  • contamination of water, soil and crops
  • malnutrition, anaemia and reduced immunity to disease.

Ukraine still suffers from the effects of Chernobyl and with the ongoing conflict in East Ukraine, now in it's 6th year, our help is needed more than ever.

There is high unemployment and high inflation. Over 85,000 children are living in institutions. Our child sponsorship program benefits thousands of children living in dilapidated and overcrowded orphanages.

Working through our three community centres, Family-to-Family sponsorship and Family Care projects we provide for the basic needs of thousands of the poorest families.

Our vocational and educational training opportunites, such as sewing, carpentry, cookery and computing, give hundreds of people a chance to work.

Thousands of people are reached nationwide through our Christian Radio programs.
