GIFT IN KIND PROGRAM

MWB International Board - Confirmation of GIK Closure

UPDATE - Gift in Kind closure 2017/2018

_MG_0306

Due to the rising cost of transport and storage we have been asked by the International Board to cease sending Gift in Kind from Australia. Currently MWB have reached capacity in all the field countries and  no longer require us to provide any further Gift in Kind.

It has now become more economical for our field countries to purchase the items locally. Additionally, this will also improve their communities economically, provide more job opportunities for locals and help them to become more self sufficient.

The closure of the GIK ministry of our mission will happen in several stages.
By the end of August, the Dandenong Workshop/ Collection point in Melbourne will send it's last container, and the premises will be vacated early September. No further GIK can be donated after 31st July 2017.

We would like to thank all our wonderful volunteers who have supported and provided towards this ministry over the years. Without you, we would not have been able to keep hundreds of thousands of children, women, men and the elderly warm throughout their bitterly cold winters.

Our Sydney GIK ministry will be closing in early April.
As such, we are asking for all knitted items (winter goods) be delivered to us by the end of July 2017. There will be one final container of winter items leaving in August. Manufactured goods (bought clothing) suitable for summer months can be sent to us until 28th February 2018.

We would like to make sure that everyone is fully aware that Mission Without Borders Australia is NOT CLOSING, but will continue with all of our fundraising and ministry work other than Gift in Kind within Australia. It is only the sending of containers that will cease.

Although we are sad that this is the end of a season for a much loved ministry, we are delighted to share that there are new initiatives beginning aimed towards Community Fundraising opportunites that you can be a part of.

We would like to take the opportunity to tell you all how grateful we are at MWB, for the generosity, love and care that our supporters share in blessing the people we serve in East European field countries.

God bless and thank you.

Mission Without Borders Australia.
