Volunteer in Eastern Europe
Have you ever dreamed of changing the world? Contributing to a good cause? Working for social change and justice? Exploring a new culture and meeting new people? Have you ever wanted to hand out meals at a soup kitchen? Distribute clothes to the needy? Make crafts or play soccer with children at summer camp? Renovate a moisture-infested bathroom? Shower impoverished families with Christmas gifts? Would you like to make children smile? Teach them Bible songs? Reach out a caring hand to an elderly? Invest your time in others? See people come to Christ!?
For the adventurous, we have numerous short-term opportunities to volunteer in Eastern Europe. Perhaps you would like to Volunteer at a Summer Camp, or deliver Operation Christmas Love parcels or Operation Winter Rescue items to the poor families and children in our care.
For a full list of opportunities available, please contact us and we will send you a copy of the Mission Without Borders Volunteer Opportunuties.
There are quite a few things to keep in mind in considering whether you would like to volunteer with Mission Without Borders International:
As far as volunteering, our opportunities are very limited, for the following reasons:
-
We only use national workers in our field countries. They achieve far more as they do not struggle with visas, language and cultural issues.
-
Our volunteer opportunities are only open to those current committed supporters of Mission Without Borders Australia.
-
Our volunteer opportunities are very short in nature. Most are only about one week in length. This allows people to see the ministry in action and contribute a little, but at the same time not be a burden to the ongoing ministry carried out by our staff and large number of national volunteers. Whatever time you are there you require significant assistance and translators etc..
-
The opportunities are short as they suit European supporters who can take a week or so off work and go and assist at Summer Camp for example.
-
If you are still keen we can request that you stay a little longer, but this would be at the discretion of the international field office and field countries.
-
Some Australians tie in a few opportunities back to back such as summer camps in 2 or 3 countries one after the other making it about 1 month total – making the airfare worth their while.
-
There is an extensive application process that must take place if you decide to proceed so you would need to apply some months in advance.
-
If you prefer to serve for a longer period, many others organisations offer longer opportunities.
Our motto in MWB Australia is to be a blessing and not a burden and it is in this spirit that our short-term volunteer opportunities are shaped. Please Contact us if you have any questions.
God bless,
