Special Projects.

Special Projects are one-off projects which you can see through from the very beginning to the very end.

Special ProjectsIt may be a tractor for an impoverished family or a toilet block for a Children’s Home. From sports equipment to school chairs. From musical instruments to medicines. All the items needed and the work involved have been identified and cost-ed by our staff.

How does it work?

Special Projects can work in one of two ways.

The most usual way that you or your group will have a specific amount which you would like to allocate towards a Special Project. You would then be offered a selection of Projects which could be met with your donation. From that list you would choose which Project you would like to fund.

Less often, you or your group would contact us requesting that a specific Special Project be started, for example in the Home where your sponsored child lives. You would be informed of Projects which would help that Home and the costs involved. You would then choose whether to go ahead.

In both cases and when all the funds have been received by us, the necessary equipment would be purchased and any work would then get underway.

On completion of the Project, you would be sent a personal Thank You letter from the people you have helped, (together with a translation of course!), and photographs showing the difference you have made to their lives.

One important thing to keep in mind is Special Projects are the icing on the cake and that without the regular ongoing financial support of our ministry, we simply would not be able to work on an ongoing basis with the children, families and elderly in need.

Therefore if you are interested in supplying the funds for a Special Project, please only consider it if you have already supported us through regular sponsorship of a family, child or supported our appeals throughout the year. The beneficiaries love to receive concrete gifts like cows and renovations, but would be completely destitute if we supplied funds for a renovation, but had to say they could no longer be enrolled in our Family-to-Family program as we do not have enough sponsors….

It is a delicate balance but we love the fact we are able to facilitate the generous support of Australians to make concrete lasting changes to families and children in need.

Please contact us if you would like to discuss the option of supplying a Special Project.

 Many thanks for your support.
