All over Australia we have people knitting blankets, jumpers, hats and scarves. They are much needed by some of the poorest people in Eastern Europe.

Blankets and other items are knitted and crocheted for families, the elderly and especially the children in Eastern Europe.au-2007-0017_10.gif

We are thrilled by the generous support and response by people right around Australia..

We sent 8 containers over to our field countries in 2009!

We are humbled by the incredible generosity of some many who have knitted and given so generously and sacrificially!

The need is so great, and will be ongoing. If you are willing and able to keep knitting, there are many more children, teenagers, families and elderly who would love to kept warm by a lovingly knitted blanket, jumper, scarf, beanie…..au-2007-0017_3.gif

 There is a continual need for blankets - large and cot size, as well as jumpers, scarves and beanies for all sizes. It is often a misconception that the children in the Children’s Homes are young, but oftentimes they are older children and teenagers. Therefore, for those able, we have a constant need for jumpers for older children and teenagers.

 

Donations of other needed items

For individuals willing to donate items, the following are a list of what our field countries have requested:

Wool, material, knitting needles embroidery items - we have thousands of teenagers in Vocational Training in Sewing and Embroidery classes as well as thousands of families and elderly who would love to sew and knit for themselves, but do not have the resources to do so - we would love your NEW donations.

‘GIFT IN KIND’, INCLUDING OPERATION COVER-UP IS BEING PACKED IN BOTH SYDNEY AND OUR ‘WORKSHOP’ IN DANDENONG NORTH (MELBOURNE)- OUR CURRENT TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS DELIVER THE GOODS TO EITHER LOCATION TO ENSURE THEY ARE SENT TO EASTERN EUROPE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
